How To Become A Resident
The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program provides affordable, well-maintained rental housing for individuals and families with low to moderate incomes. Rent is based on income, making it more budget-friendly than market-rate apartments. To qualify, your household income must fall within a specific range, which varies based on household size and location.
Key Qualifications:
- Income Limits: Households must meet minimum and maximum income limits based on combined gross income and household size.
- Rent Limits: Maximum rent is determined by unit size, with an assumed occupancy of 1.5 people per bedroom.
- Household Size: Includes everyone living in the unit, whether related or not.
- Student Rule: A household cannot be made up entirely of full-time students (with some exceptions).
